Hi All!
Guess who visited Minou and I? This little guy flapped onto my window and then settled on the ledge just outside. I think he thought there was more shelter here because of my deep windows (birds have problems with windows as we all know) and dark curtains.
I thought he would leave, but when I went back into my spare room to do some reading a few hours later, he was still there! It took Minou a little while to notice him, but she was awfully interested once she did. Lucky for us, she couldn't get to him. I felt bad for him 'cuz he looks so lonely out there with no food or water or friends, so I called my Dad (birdwatcher extraordinaire) and he gave me some suggestions as to what I could put out for him. He hasn't eaten anything yet, but there was a cat (who was clearly licking her lips) with me when I put it out, so it's possible that he doesn't trust me yet.
We think he's a dove. What do you think? Minou and I are calling him Hobbes; well, I am anyway. I think if Minou were to call him anything, it would be Dinner.
